Wherein I Get All School-Spirity: The Quaker School Mascot Project

Meet "The Greene Street Hawk".

I recently had the good fortune to design the school mascot for Greene Street Friends School, a fantastic Pre-K through 8th Grade school in Northwest Philadelphia. It was founded in 1855, but up until recently, didn't have a proper mascot. The students changed all of that, and now they have a visual identity to match. Doing the project taught me a lot of things, one of which is that 6th graders are very demanding and discriminating clients (in a totally good way).

This little red-tailed will find its way onto many bits of merchandise, sports uniforms and apparel in the very near future, so look for it! It's sure to be bigger than that Phillie Phanatic guy. More ordering information to come, as well as a peek into the design process.
