I'm proud to formally announce that my above cartoon "Truce: Rock, Scissors, Paper" has won the Grand Prize in this year's International Caretoons Contest, sponsored by US Airways, and The National Liberty Museum! Thank you, National Liberty Museum and US Airways!
This piece will hang in the museum for the next year, which you should totally check out, regardless of if my cartoon is hanging there or not, as it is a gem of a space, over in Old City Philadelphia. But, you know, please check it out this year, because, c'mon, my art is there this year, and we wouldn't want it to become lonely.
This contest received entries from 42 states and 105 countries, and is divided into adult and student categories (Mine won in the national adult category). I've heard there may even be a comically oversized check involved, so that's a huge additional bonus, anytime!
The semi-annual competition honors comic works that promote peace, cooperation, and diversity, and celebrates the power of cartoon art. This year's theme is "Building Bridges".
Very honored!
Update!: Large, high-quality prints of this piece are now available for purchase, over in my Etsy shop, direct from me! Thanks for checking it out!
